1 Chronicles 1:19–23

²¹¶ Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.

²⁵And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

¹⁶And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg:

¹⁷And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters.

²⁴And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.

²⁶And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

²⁷And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

²⁸And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

⁴Even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses withal:

¹¹And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones.

²⁸And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.

⁷And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt.

²⁹And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.

¹¹The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;

¹⁸And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.

¹²I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.

²⁴Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.

⁹Kings’ daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.
