23¶ In those days also saw I Jews that had married wives of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab:
24And their children spake half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Jews’ language, but according to the language of each people.
25And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.
26Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.
27Shall we then hearken unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our God in marrying strange wives?
23¶ In those dayes also sawe I Iewes that †had maried wiues of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab:
24And their children spake halfe in the speech of Ashdod, and †could not speake in the Iewes language, but according to the language †of ech people.
25And I contended with them, and ‖cursed them, and smote certeine of them, and pluckt off their haire, and made them sweare by God, saying, Yee shall not giue your daughters vnto their sonnes, nor take their daughters vnto your sonnes, or for your selues.
26Did not Solomon king of Israel sinne by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloued of his God, and God made him king ouer all Israel: *neuerthelesse, euen him did outlandish women cause to sinne.
27Shall wee then hearken vnto you, to doe all this great euill, to transgresse against our God, in marrying strange wiues?

1AND Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh’s daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the Lord, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.

8Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
9Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:
10Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;
11And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
12And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
13And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
14I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
15¶ Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
16Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.
17Let them be only thine own, and not strangers’ with thee.
18Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
19Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.
20And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
8Remoue thy way farre from her, and come not nie the doore of her house:
9Lest thou giue thine honour vnto others, and thy yeeres vnto the cruell:
10†Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth, and thy labors be in the house of a stranger,
11And thou mourne at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
12And say, How haue I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproofe?
13And haue not obeyed the voyce of my teachers, nor inclined mine eare to them that instructed me?
14I was almost in all euill, in the midst of the congregation & assembly.

2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

4There were Giants in the earth in those daies: and also after that, when the sonnes of God came in vnto the daughters of men, & they bare children to them; the same became mightie men, which were of old, men of renowme.
5¶ And God saw, that the wickednes of man was great in the earth, and that ‖euery imagination of the thoughts of his *heart was onely euill †continually.
