1 Kings 4:2–4

²⁸And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

⁸And Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Ahimaaz,

⁹And Ahimaaz begat Azariah, and Azariah begat Johanan,

¹⁰And Johanan begat Azariah, (he it is that executed the priest’s office in the temple that Solomon built in Jerusalem:)

⁹And Ahimaaz begate Azariah, and Azariah begate Iohanan,

¹⁰And Iohanan begate Azariah, (hee it is that executed the Priests office, in ^†the ^*temple that Solomon built in Ierusalem)

²³¶ Now Joab was over all the host of Israel: and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and over the Pelethites:

²⁴And Adoram was over the tribute: and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder:

²⁵And Sheva was scribe: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:

²⁶And Ira also the Jairite was a chief ruler about David.

²³¶ Now ^*Ioab was ouer all the hoste of Israel, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada was ouer the Cherethites, and ouer the Pelethites.

²⁴And Adoram was ouer the tribute, and Iehoshaphat the sonne of Ahilud was ^‖Recorder.

²⁵And Sheua was scribe, and Zadok, and Abiathar were the Priests.

²⁶And Ira also the Iairite, was ^‖a chiefe ruler about Dauid.

¹⁵And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.

¹⁶And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

¹⁷And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;

¹⁸And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were chief rulers.

¹⁶And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

⁶Then David put garrisons in Syria-damascus; and the Syrians became David’s servants, and brought gifts. Thus the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.

⁶I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence,

³⁵¶ And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host: and Zadok the priest did the king put in the room of Abiathar.

³⁵¶ And the king put Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada in his roome ouer the hoste, and Zadok the Priest did the king put in the roume of Abiathar.

²⁶¶ And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the Lord God before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.

²⁷So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest unto the Lord; that he might fulfil the word of the Lord, which he spake concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.

²⁶¶ And vnto Abiathar the Priest saide the King, Get thee to Anathoth, vnto thine own fields, for thou art ^†worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the arke of the LORD God before Dauid my father, and because thou hast bene afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.

²⁷So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from beeing Priest vnto the LORD: that hee might ^*fulfill the word of the LORD, which hee spake concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.
