1 Samuel 11:4–6

²⁶¶ And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of men, whose hearts God had touched.

⁴And it came to pass, when the angel of the Lord spake these words unto all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.

³⁴¶ Then Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house to Gibeah of Saul.

⁴Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

²And the people came to the house of God, and abode there till even before God, and lifted up their voices, and wept sore;

²Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

²⁶And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

²And Saul tarried in the uttermost part of Gibeah under a pomegranate tree which is in Migron: and the people that were with him were about six hundred men;

⁶Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the Lord in Gibeah of Saul, whom the Lord did choose. And the king said, I will give them.

³Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

¹⁵Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

¹⁹¶ So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.

¹NOW there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power.

¹⁷And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.

¹THE burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the housetops?

²³And they cried unto the children of Dan. And they turned their faces, and said unto Micah, What aileth thee, that thou comest with such a company?

⁷¹From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.

¹⁰And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.

¹³Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

³⁴But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abi-ezer was gathered after him.

²⁵And the Spirit of the Lord began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.

⁶And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.

¹⁰And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the Lord delivered Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushan-rishathaim.

²⁹¶ Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, and he passed over Gilead, and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead he passed over unto the children of Ammon.

²⁶Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

¹⁹¶ And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.

⁵And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

³(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
