2 Chronicles 1:5–8

²See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:

¹AND he made the altar of burnt offering of shittim wood: five cubits was the length thereof, and five cubits the breadth thereof; it was foursquare; and three cubits the height thereof.

²And he made the horns thereof on the four corners of it; the horns thereof were of the same: and he overlaid it with brass.

³And he made all the vessels of the altar, the pots, and the shovels, and the basons, and the fleshhooks, and the firepans: all the vessels thereof made he of brass.

⁴And he made for the altar a brasen grate of network under the compass thereof beneath unto the midst of it.

⁵And he cast four rings for the four ends of the grate of brass, to be places for the staves.

⁶And he made the staves of shittim wood, and overlaid them with brass.

⁷And he put the staves into the rings on the sides of the altar, to bear it withal; he made the altar hollow with boards.

¹¶ And ^*he made the Altar of burnt offring of Shittim wood: fiue cubits was the length thereof, and fiue cubits the breadth thereof: it was foure square, and three cubits the height thereof.

³And he made all the vessels of the Altar, the pots and the shouels, and the basons, and the fleshhookes, and the firepannes: all the vessels thereof made he of brasse.

⁴And he made for the Altar a brasen grate of networke, vnder the compasse thereof, beneath vnto the midst of it.

⁵And hee cast foure rings for the foure ends of the grate of brasse, to bee places for the staues.

⁶And he made the staues of Shittim wood, and ouerlayed them with brasse.

⁷And hee put the staues into the rings on the sides of the Altar, to beare it withall; hee made the Altar hollow with boards.

³And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we inquired not at it in the days of Saul.

¹⁹And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took unto him Ephrath, which bare him Hur.

⁷¶ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

⁸For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

⁷¶ ^*Aske, and it shalbe giuen you: seeke, and ye shall finde: knocke, and it shalbe opened vnto you.

⁸For euery one that asketh, receiueth: and he that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shalbe opened.

¹⁴And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

¹⁵And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

¹⁴And this is the confidence that we haue ^‖in him, that if wee aske any thing according to his will, hee heareth vs.

¹⁵And if we know that he heare vs, whatsoeuer wee aske, wee know that we haue the petitions that wee desired of him.

²³And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

²³And in that day ye shall aske me nothing: ^*Uerily, verily I say vnto you, Whatsoeuer yee shall aske the Father in my Name, he will giue it you.

⁵¶ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

⁶In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

⁵¶ In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.

⁶And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

⁷And now, O Lord my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.

⁸And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.

⁹Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

¹⁰And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.

¹¹And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

¹²Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.

¹³And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.

¹⁴And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.

¹⁵And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.

⁶And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed vnto thy seruant Dauid my father great ^‖mercy, according as he walked before thee in trueth, and in righteousnesse, and in vprightnesse of heart with thee, and thou hast kept for him this great kindnesse, that thou hast giuen him a sonne to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

⁷And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy seruant King in stead of Dauid my father: and I am but a litle childe: I know not how to goe out or come in.

⁸And thy seruant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbred, nor counted for multitude.

^9*Giue therefore thy seruant an ^†understanding heart, to iudge thy people, that I may discerne betweene good and bad: for who is able to iudge this thy so great a people?

¹⁰And the speach pleased the LORD, that Solomon had asked this thing.

¹¹And God said vnto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thy selfe ^†long life, neither hast asked riches for thy selfe, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies, but hast asked for thy selfe vnderstanding ^†to discerne iudgement;

¹²Behold, I haue done according to thy word: loe, I haue giuen thee a wise and an vnderstanding heart, so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like vnto thee.

¹³And I haue also ^*giuen thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there ^‖shall not be any among the Kings like vnto thee, all thy dayes.

¹⁴And if thou wilt walke in my wayes, to keepe my Statutes and my Commandements, ^*as thy father Dauid did walke, then I will lengthen thy dayes.

¹⁵And Solomon awoke, and behold, it was a dreame: and he came to Ierusalem, and stood before the Arke of the Couenant of the LORD, and offered vp burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his seruants.

³⁶And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?

³⁷They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.

³⁶And hee saide vnto them, What would ye that I should doe for you?

³⁷They said vnto him, Grant vnto vs that wee may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.

⁵¹And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

⁵¹And Iesus answered, and said vnto him, What wilt thou that I should doe vnto thee? The blinde man said vnto him, Lord, that I might receiue my sight.

⁵And of all my sons, (for the Lord hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.

^5*And of all my sonnes (for the LORD hath giuen me many sonnes) hee hath chosen Solomon my sonne, to sit vpon the throne of the kingdome of the LORD ouer Israel.

³Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

²³Then Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

⁷¶ And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;

⁸And I gave thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.

⁷¶ And Nathan said to Dauid, Thou art the man: thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I ^*anointed thee king ouer Israel, and I deliuered thee out of the hand of Saul,

⁸And I gaue thee thy Masters house, and thy Masters wiues into thy bosome, and gaue thee the house of Israel and of Iudah, and if that had bene too litle, I would moreouer haue giuen vnto thee such and such things.

⁹And I was with thee withersoeuer thou wentest, and haue cut off all thine enemies ^†out of thy sight, and haue made thee a great name, like vnto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

¹³For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

²⁰I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:

²¹With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.

²⁴But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.

²⁵I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.

²⁶He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.

²⁷Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.

²⁸My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.

^20*I haue found Dauid my seruant: with my holy oile haue I anointed him.

²¹With whome my hand shall bee established: mine arme also shall strengthen him.
