Exodus 17:9–11

⁴⁴¶ And Moses came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.

¹³And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God.

²⁰And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

²And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.

⁸For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

⁴⁵Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;

¹³And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

²⁸And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.

³And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the Lord of Midian.

⁴Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.

³And Moses spake vnto the people, saying, Arme some of your selues vnto the warre, and let them goe against the Midianites, and auenge the LORD of Midian.

^4†Of euery tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the warre.

¹⁶These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua.

¹⁴And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them.

¹⁴And hee saide vnto the Elders, Tary ye here for vs, vntill wee come againe vnto you: and behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: If any man haue any matters to doe, let him come vnto them.

¹²But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

¹²But Moses hands were heauie, and they tooke a stone, and put it vnder him, and he sate thereon: and Aaron and Hur stayed vp his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side, and his handes were steady vntill the going downe of the Sunne.

²See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:

¹⁵¶ As the Lord commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded Moses.

¹⁵¶ ^*As the LORD commanded Moses his seruant, so ^*did Moses command Ioshua, and so did Ioshua: hee ^†left nothing vndone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.

¹⁴Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

⁵His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

⁵His mother saith vnto y ^e seruants, Whatsoeuer he saith vnto you, doe it.

²⁰Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

⁸I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

¹⁶Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

¹AND he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

¹¶ And he spake a parable vnto them, to this ende, that men ought ^*alwayes to pray, and not to faint,

⁹When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.

⁹When I crie vnto thee, then shall mine enemies turne backe: this I know, for God is for me.
