Isaiah 38:10–11

⁹But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

²⁴I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.

⁷O remember that my life is wind: mine eye shall no more see good.

¹⁸Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

¹IN those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.

¹¶ ^*†In those daies was Hezekiah sicke vnto death: and Isaiah the Prophet the sonne of Amoz came vnto him, and said vnto him; Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not liue.

¹¹My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.

¹²They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.

¹³If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.

¹⁴I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister.

¹⁵And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?

¹⁶They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.

¹¹My dayes are past, my purposes are broken off, euen ^†the thoughts of my heart:

¹³If I waite, the graue is mine house: I haue made my bedde in the darknesse.

¹⁶They shall goe downe to the barres of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.

¹¹What is my strength, that I should hope? and what is mine end, that I should prolong my life?

¹³I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

⁸For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

⁹I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

⁹I wil walke before the LORD: in the land of the liuing.

⁵For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

⁶Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

¹⁴Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.

¹⁵But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:

⁴Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake.
