John 11:31–33

¹⁹And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.

¹⁶David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth.

¹⁷And the elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them.

¹⁸And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead?

¹⁶Dauid therfore besought God for the childe, and Dauid ^†fasted, and went in, and lay all night vpon the earth.

¹⁸And it came to passe on the seuenth day, that the childe died: and the seruants of Dauid feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they saide, Behold, while the childe was yet aliue, we spake vnto him, and he would not hearken vnto our voice: how will he then ^†vexe himselfe, if we tell him that the childe is dead?

³⁵And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down into the grave unto my son mourning. Thus his father wept for him.

³⁵And all his sonnes, and all his daughters rose vp to comfort him: but he refused to be comforted: and he said, For I will goe downe into the graue vnto my sonne, mourning; thus his father wept for him.

¹⁵But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

^15*But he that is spirituall, ^‖iudgeth all things, yet he himselfe is ^‖iudged of no man.

²¹Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

¹⁶And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

⁸When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

⁴¹¶ And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:

⁸And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.

⁸And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

³⁷And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?

⁴⁹The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.

³⁸Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

²⁷Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

⁵And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

³⁰And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there.

¹THEN Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.

²And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard.

³And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; doth my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.

⁴And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.

⁵Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.

¹¶ Then Ioseph could not refraine himselfe before all them that stood by him: and he cried, Cause euery man to goe out from me; and there stood no man with him, while Ioseph made himselfe knowen vnto his brethren.

²And he ^†wept aloud: and the Egyptians, and the house of Pharaoh heard.

³And Ioseph said vnto his brethren, ^*I am Ioseph; Doeth my father yet liue? and his brethren could not answere him: for they were ^‖troubled at his presence.

⁴And Ioseph said vnto his brethren, Come neere to me, I pray you: and they came neere; and he said, I am Ioseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.

⁵Now therefore bee not grieued, ^†nor angry with your selues, that yee sold me hither: ^*for God did send me before you, to preserue life.

⁷Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

⁸Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

⁸Though hee were a Sonne, yet learned hee obedience, by the things which he suffered:

³³And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

³⁴And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

³⁵And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

³³And hee taketh with him Peter, and Iames, and Iohn, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heauy,

³⁴And saith vnto them, My soule is exceeding sorowful vnto death: tarie ye here, and watch.

³⁵And he went forward a litle, and fell on the ground, and prayed, that if it were possible, the houre might passe from him.

¹⁵For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

²¹When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

¹⁹He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.

¹⁹He answereth him, and saith, O faithlesse generation, how long shall I be with you, how long shall I suffer you? Bring him vnto me.
