Luke 22:67–71

²⁴Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

²⁵Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.

²⁶But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

²⁴Then came the Iewes round about him, and said vnto him, How long doest thou ^‖make vs to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell vs plainely.

²⁵Iesus answered them, I told you, and ye beleeued not: the workes that I doe in my Fathers name, they beare witnesse of me.

²⁶But ye beleeue not, because ye are not of my sheepe, as I said vnto you.

³⁷¶ But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

³⁸That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

³⁹Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,

⁴⁰He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

⁴¹These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.

⁴²¶ Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

⁴³For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

³⁷¶ But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they beleeued not on him:

³⁸That the saying of Esaias the Prophet might be fulfilled, which hee spake, ^*Lord, who hath beleeued our report? and to whom hath the arme of the Lord beene reuealed?

³⁹Therefore they could not beleeue, because that Esaias said againe,

^40*He hath blinded their eyes, and hardned their heart, that they should not see with their eyes, nor vnderstand with their heart, and be conuerted, and I should heale them.

⁴¹These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.

⁴³I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

⁴⁴How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?

⁴⁵Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.

⁴⁶For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

⁴⁷But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

³⁹¶ Search the Scriptures, for in them ye thinke ye haue eternall life, and they are they which testifie of me.

⁴⁰And ye will not come to me, that ye might haue life.

⁴¹I receiue not honour from men.

⁴³I am come in my Fathers name, and ye receiue me not: if another shall come in his owne Name, him ye will receiue.

^44*How can ye beleeue, which receiue honour one of another, & seeke not the honour that commeth from God onely?

⁴⁵Doe not thinke that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, euen Moses, in whom ye trust?

⁴⁶For had ye beleeued Moses, ye would haue beleeued me: ^*for he wrote of me.

⁴⁷But if ye beleeue not his writings, how shall ye beleeue my words?

⁴³Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

⁴⁴Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

⁴⁵And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

⁴³Why doe yee not vnderstand my speech? euen because yee cannot heare my word.

⁶¹But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

⁶²And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

⁶³Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?

⁶⁴Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.

⁶⁵And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.

⁶⁶¶ And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:

⁶¹But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Againe, the high Priest asked him, and said vnto him, Art thou the Christ, the sonne of the Blessed?

⁶²And Iesus said, I am: ^*and yee shall see the sonne of man sitting on the right hand of power, and comming in the clouds of heauen.

⁶³Then the high Priest rent his clothes, and saith, What neede we any further witnesses?

⁶⁴Yee haue heard the blasphemy: what thinke yee? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.

⁶⁵And some beganne to spit on him, and to couer his face, and to buffet him, and to say vnto him, Prophecie: And the seruants did stricke him with the palmes of their hands.

⁶⁶¶ ^*And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there commeth one of the maides of the high Priest.

³And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

⁴Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

⁵The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

³And said vnto him, Art thou hee that should come? Or doe wee looke for another?

⁴Iesus answered and saide vnto them, Go and shew Iohn againe those things which we doe heare and see:

⁶³But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

⁶⁴Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

⁶⁵Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

⁶⁶What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

⁶⁷Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,

⁶⁸Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?

⁶³But Iesus held his peace. And the high Priest answered, and said vnto him, I adiure thee by the liuing God, that thou tell vs, whether thou bee the Christ the Sonne of God.

⁶⁴Iesus saith vnto him, Thou hast saide: Neuerthelesse I say vnto you, ^*Hereafter shall yee see the Sonne of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heauen.

⁶⁵Then the high Priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemie: what further need haue wee of witnesses? Behold, now ye haue heard his blasphemie.

⁶⁶What thinke ye? They answered and said, He is guiltie of death.

^67*Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him, and others smote him with ^‖the palmes of their hands,

⁶⁸Saying, Prophecie vnto vs, thou Christ, who is he that smote thee?

³And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me:

⁴The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?

⁵And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not?

⁶But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.

⁷And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was.

³And hee answered, and said vnto them, I will also aske you one thing, and answere me.

⁴The Baptisme of Iohn, was it from heauen, or of men?

⁵And they reasoned with themselues, saying, If wee shall say, From heauen, he will say, Why then beleeued yee him not?

⁶But and if we say, Of men, all the people will stone vs: for they be perswaded that Iohn was a Prophet.

⁷And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was.

⁴¹And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David’s son?

⁴²And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

⁴³Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

⁴⁴David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?

⁴¹And he said vnto them, ^*How say they that Christ is Dauids sonne?

⁴²And Dauid himselfe saith in the booke of Psalmes, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

⁴³Till I make thine enemies thy footestoole.

⁴⁴Dauid therefore calleth him, Lord, how is he then his sonne?

¹THE Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

¹¶ The LORD said vnto my LORD, Sit thou at my right hand: vntil I make thine enemies thy footestoole.

¹³I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

¹⁴And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

¹³I saw in the night visions, and behold, one like the sonne of man, came with the clouds of heauen, and came to the Ancient of daies, and they brought him neere before him.

^14*And there was giuen him dominion and glory, and a kingdome, that all people, nations, and languages should serue him: his dominion is an euerlasting dominion, which shall not passe away; and his kingdome that, which shall not be destroyed.

³Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

^3*Who being the brightnesse of his glory, and the expresse image of his person, and vpholding all things by the word of his power, when hee had by himselfe purged our sinnes, sate down on y ^e right hand of the Maiestie on high,

¹⁹¶ So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

³⁴For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

³⁶Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

³⁴For Dauid is not ascended into the heauens, but he saith himselfe, ^*The Lord said vnto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

³⁵Untill I make thy foes thy footstoole.

³⁶Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Iesus, whom ye haue crucified, both Lord and Christ.

²⁰Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

²¹Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

²²And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

²³Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

²⁰Which he wrought in Christ when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his owne right hand in the heauenly places,

²¹Farre aboue all principalitie, and power, and might, and dominion, and euery name that is named, not onely in this world, but also in that which is to come:

²²Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

⁵⁵But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

¹IF ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

¹¶ If yee then bee risen with Christ, seeke those things which are aboue, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God:

⁸Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

⁹(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

¹⁰He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

⁸Wherefore he saith: ^*When he ascended vp on high, he led ^‖captiuitie captiue, and gaue gifts vnto men.

²Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

¹NOW of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

¹¶ Now of the things which we haue spoken, this is the summe: wee haue such an high Priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Maiestie in the heauens:

¹AND he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

¹¶ And he shewed mee a pure riuer of water of life, cleere as Chrystall, proceeding out of the throne of God, and of the Lambe.

²¹To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

²¹To him that ouercommeth, will I graunt to sit with mee in my throne, euen as I also ouercame, and am set downe with my Father in his throne.

³⁴Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

³And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest it.

³⁷Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

³⁷Pilate therefore saide vnto him, Art thou a King then? Iesus answered, Thou saiest that I am a King. To this end was I borne, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should beare witnesse vnto the trueth: euery one that is of the trueth heareth my voice.

²And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it.

⁶⁴Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

¹¹And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

¹¹And Iesus stood before the gouernour, and the gouernour asked him, saying; Art thou the King of the Iewes? And Iesus sayd vnto him, Thou sayest.

³⁴And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

³⁴And I saw, and bare record, that this is the sonne of God.

⁴⁹Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

⁴⁹Nathaneel answered, and saith vnto him, Rabbi, thou art the Sonne of God, thou art the king of Israel.

³⁰I and my Father are one.

³⁶Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

⁷The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

⁴¹And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.

^41*And deuils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Sonne of God. And hee rebuking them, suffered them not ^‖to speake: for they knewe that hee was Christ.

⁶²And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

⁴³He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

⁵⁴Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

¹⁷And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

³And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

¹²Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
