Psalms 59:9–10

⁹The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

³Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

⁴Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

¹⁴Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

²He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

¹⁷Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.

¹⁹The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

²Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

³¹But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

¹THE Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

¹⁴Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

¹³And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

¹I WILL love thee, O Lord, my strength.

²The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

¹THE Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;

¹GOD is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

⁷The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

¹¹God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

⁵My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

⁶He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

¹⁰But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

³For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.

⁷For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

¹⁷Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.

⁵He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.

¹¹Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.

⁴But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

⁵Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

²⁴And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

¹⁶As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.

⁸Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

²Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.

⁸Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

³Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

¹¹Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him:

¹²And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the Lord, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword.

¹⁷¶ And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son:

⁴¹¶ And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,

⁴²Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

⁴³For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,

⁴⁴And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

⁸His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

⁶They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.

⁸O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.

¹⁰David said furthermore, As the Lord liveth, the Lord shall smite him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall descend into battle, and perish.

²For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

³For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

¹⁵For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
