Psalms 61:4–6

⁶Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

⁸Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

⁴One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.

⁴He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

¹LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

¹BE merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

⁷Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

¹²The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

³⁷O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

⁷In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

¹HE that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

¹⁸That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

⁴I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.

⁵I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

¹²Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

¹LORD, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

¹³Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.

⁷He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.

¹⁶¶ Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name.

¹⁷And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

¹⁸Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

¹²Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

¹³He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

¹¹Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

³⁵But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

⁵The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

⁶The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

¹PRAISE waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.

¹⁹But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

⁴He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

³⁶His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.

³⁷It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

⁶For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

¹⁰¶ Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

¹⁵And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.

¹⁶There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.

¹⁷His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
