Exodus 4:10–12

⁶Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

⁶Then said I, Ah ^* LORD God, behold, I cannot speake, for I am a childe.

¹²And Moses spake before the Lord, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips?

¹²And Moses spake before the LORD, saying, Behold, the children of Israel haue not hearkened vnto me: how then shal Pharaoh heare me, who am of vncircumcised lips?

²²And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

⁶But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.

¹AND Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The Lord hath not appeared unto thee.

¹¶ And Moses answered, and said, But behold, they will not beleeue mee, nor hearken vnto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared vnto thee.

¹⁰For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.

¹⁰For his letters (say they) are waighty and powerfull, but his bodily presence is weake, and his speach contemptible.

²No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.

¹AND I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

²For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

³And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

⁴And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

¹¶ And I, brethren, when I came to you, ^*came not with excellencie of speech, or of wisedome, declaring vnto you the testimony of God.

²For I determined not to know any thing amōg you, saue Iesus Christ, and him crucified.

³And I was with you in weakenesse, and in feare, and in much trembling.

⁴And my speech, and my preaching ^* was not with ^‖entising words of mans wisedome, but in demonstration of the Spirit, and of power:

⁶Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?

⁶Shall a trumpet be blowen in the citie, and the ^‖people not be afraid? shall there be euill in a citie, and the ^‖ LORD hath not done it?

²⁶And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.

²⁷But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.

^26†And I will make thy tongue cleaue to the roofe of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumme and shalt not be to them a reprouer: for they are a rebellious house.

²⁷But when I speake with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say vnto them; Thus saith the LORD God, He that heareth, let him heare, and he that forbeareth, let him forbeare: for they are a rebellious house.

⁷And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

^7†And he laide it vpon my mouth, and sayd, Loe, this hath touched thy lippes, and thine iniquitie is taken away, and thy sinne purged.

⁸The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lord loveth the righteous:

⁸The LORD openeth the eyes of the blinde, the LORD raiseth them that are bowed downe: the LORD loueth the righteous.

⁹He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

^9*He that planted the eare, shall he not heare? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

¹⁵O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

¹⁵O LORD open thou my lips, and my mouth shall shew foorth thy praise.

⁶Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

⁹Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

⁹Then the LORD put foorth his hand, and ^*touched my mouth, and the LORD said vnto me, Behold, I haue ^*put my words in thy mouth.

²²Now the hand of the Lord was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.

^22*Now the hand of the LORD was vpon mee in the euening, afore hee that was escaped came, and had opened my mouth vntill hee came to mee in the morning, and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumbe.

¹⁴Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

¹⁴Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed will I returne vnto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall haue a sonne.

⁷To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

⁵Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

⁶Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

^5**Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the eares of the deafe shalbe vnstopped.

⁵The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

⁹Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

¹¹And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

¹²For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

^11*And when they bring you vnto the Synagogues, and vnto Magistrates, & powers, take yee no thought how or what thing ye shall answere, or what ye shall say:

¹²For the holy Ghost shal teach you in the same houre, what ye ought to say.

¹⁹But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

²⁰For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

^19*But when they deliuer you vp, take no thought, how or what ye shall speake, for it shall bee giuen you in that same houre what ye shall speake.

²⁰For it is not yee that speake, but the Spirit of your Father, which speaketh in you.

¹⁴Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

¹⁵For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

¹¹But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

⁴The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.

^4*The LORD God hath giuen me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speake a worde in season to him that is wearie: hee wakeneth morning by morning, hee wakeneth mine eare to heare as the learned.

¹⁹And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

²⁶But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

¹AND it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

⁴Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.

⁵Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

^4*Shewe mee thy wayes, O LORD: teach me thy pathes.

⁵Lead me in thy trueth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my saluation, on thee doe I waite all the day.

²And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;

¹⁰Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.

¹⁰Teach me to doe thy will, for thou art my God, thy spirit is good: leade me into the land of vprightnesse.

⁹Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
