Ezekiel 12:25–28

⁵¶ Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.

⁵¶ Behold ye ^*among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marueilously: for I wil worke a worke in your daies, which yee will not beleeue, though it be tolde you.

¹¹So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

²⁴¶ The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:

²⁸Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord God.

²⁸Therefore say vnto them, Thus saith the LORD God, There shal none of my words be prolonged any more, but the worde which I haue spoken, shall be done, sayth the LORD God.

³⁵Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

¹THE word of the Lord also came unto me, saying,

²Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.

¹¶ The word of the LORD also came vnto me, saying;

²Sonne of man, thou dwellest in the middest of a rebellious house, which haue eyes to see, and see not: they haue eares to heare, and heare not: for they are a rebellious house.

³³Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

³³Heauen and earth shall passe away, but my words shall not passe away.

¹⁰And they shall know that I am the Lord, and that I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.

¹⁰And they shall know that I am the LORD, and that I haue not said in vaine, that I would doe this euill vnto them.

⁹For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.

¹²And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.

¹⁷The Lord hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old: he hath thrown down, and hath not pitied: and he hath caused thine enemy to rejoice over thee, he hath set up the horn of thine adversaries.

³⁰Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

⁶But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the Lord of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.

⁶But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my seruants the Prophets, did they not ^‖take holde of your fathers? and they returned and saide; ^*Like as the LORD of hostes thought to doe vnto vs, according to our wayes, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with vs.

¹³And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

²⁸Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:

²⁹Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me,

³⁰Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

³¹But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.

³²But as for you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness.

³³And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.

³⁴After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.

²⁸Say vnto them, ^* As truly as I liue, saith the LORD, as ye haue spoken in mine eares, so will I doe to you:

²⁹Your carcases shall fall in this wildernesse, and all that were ^*numbred of you, according to your whole number from twentie yeeres old and vpward, which haue murmured against mee,

³⁰Doubtlesse ye shall not come into the land concerning which I ^†sware to make you dwell therein, saue Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh, and Ioshua the sonne of Nun.

³¹But your little ones, which yee said should be a pray, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye haue despised.

³²But as for you, your carkases, they shall fall in this wildernesse.

³³And your children shall ^‖wander in the wildernes forty yeres, and beare your whoredomes, vntill your carkases be wasted in the wildernesse.

³⁴After the number of the dayes in which ye searched the land, euen ^*fortie dayes (each day for a yeere) shall yee beare your iniquities, euen forty yeeres, and yee shall know my ^‖breach of promise.

¹⁴Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.

⁴And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

²²Son of man, what is that proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?

¹⁴¶ Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.

¹⁵Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:

¹⁴¶ Wherefore heare the worde of the LORD, yee scornefull men, that rule this people which is in Ierusalem.

¹⁵Because ye haue said, Wee haue made a couenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement, when the ouerflowing scourge shall passe thorow, it shall not come vnto vs: for wee haue made lies our refuge, and vnder falsehood haue we hid our selues:

²³Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord God; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision.

²⁴For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.

²⁵For I am the Lord: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord God.

²³Tell them therefore, Thus sayth the LORD God; I will make this prouerbe to cease, and they shall no more vse it as a prouerbe in Israel: but say vnto them, The dayes are at hand, and the effect of euery vision.

²⁴For there shall bee no more any vaine vision, nor flattering diuination, within the house of Israel.

²⁵For I am the LORD: I will speake, & the word that I shall speake, shall come to passe: it shall be no more prolonged: for in your dayes, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will performe it, sayth the LORD God.

³²¶ But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

³³Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

³⁴For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

³⁵Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

³⁶Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

³⁷And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

³²¶ But of that day and that houre knoweth no man, no not the Angels which are in heauen, neither the Son, but the Father.

^33*Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

³⁴For the Sonne of man is as a man taking a farre iourney, who left his house, and gaue authority to his seruants, and to euery man his worke, and commanded the porter to watch:

³⁵Watch ye therefore (for ye knowe not when the master of the house commeth, at Euen, or at midnight, or at the cocke crowing, or in the morning.)

³⁶Lest comming suddenly, he finde you sleeping.

³⁷And what I say vnto you, I say vnto all, Watch.

⁴⁸But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

⁴⁹And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

⁵⁰The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

⁵¹And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

⁴⁸But and if that euill seruant shal say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his comming,

⁴⁹And shall begin to smite his fellow seruants, and to eate and drinke with the drunken:

⁵⁰The Lord of that seruant shall come in a day when hee looketh not for him, and in an houre that hee is not ware of:

⁵¹And shall cut him ^‖asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

²For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

³For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

²For your selues knowe perfectly that the day of the Lord so commeth as a thiefe in the night.

³For when they shal say, Peace and safety: then sudden destructiō commeth vpon them, as trauaile vpon a woman with childe, and they shall not escape.

⁷The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.

²⁸Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.

³Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

³⁴¶ And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

³⁵For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

³⁶Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

³⁴¶ And take heed to your selues, least at any time your hearts be ouercharged with surfetting, and drunkennesse, and cares of this life, and so that day come vpon you vnawares.

³⁵For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

³⁶Watch ye therefore, and pray alwayes, that ye may be accompted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to passe, and to stand before the sonne of man.
