Genesis 35:23–26

¹⁸And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.

¹⁹And Leah conceived again, and bare Jacob the sixth son.

²⁰And Leah said, God hath endued me with a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have born him six sons: and she called his name Zebulun.

¹⁸And Leah said, God hath giuen mee my hire, because I haue giuen my mayden to my husband: and she called his name ^†Issachar.

¹⁹And Leah conceiued againe, and bare Iacob the sixth sonne.

²⁰And Leah said, God hath endued me with a good dowry: Now will my husband dwel with me, because I haue borne him sixe sonnes: and shee called his name ^†*Zebulun.

³²And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the Lord hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.

³³And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the Lord hath heard that I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon.

³⁴And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.

³⁵And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the Lord: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.

³²And Leah conceiued and bare a sonne, and shee called his name ^†Reuben: for she said, Surely, the LORD hath looked vpon my affliction; now therefore my husband will loue me.

³³And shee conceiued againe, and bare a sonne, and saide, Because the LORD hath heard that I was hated, hee hath therefore giuen mee this sonne also, and she called his name ^†Simeon.

³⁴And shee conceiued againe, and bare a sonne, and said, Now this time will my husband be ioyned vnto me, because I haue borne him three sonnes: therefore was his name called ^†Leui.

³⁵And shee conceiued againe, and bare a sonne: and she said, Now wil I praise the LORD: therefore she called his name ^*†Iudah, and ^†left bearing.

⁸¶ And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.

⁹And the sons of Reuben; Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.

¹⁰¶ And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.

¹¹¶ And the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

¹²¶ And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.

¹³¶ And the sons of Issachar; Tola, and Phuvah, and Job, and Shimron.

¹⁴¶ And the sons of Zebulun; Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.

¹⁵These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padan-aram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.

⁸¶ And ^*these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Iacob and his sonnes: ^*Reuben Iacobs first borne;

⁹And the sonnes of Reuben, Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.

¹⁴¶ ^*And the sonnes of Zebulun: Sered, and Elon, and Iahleel.

¹⁵These bee the sonnes of Leah, which she bare vnto Iacob in Padan-Aram, with his daughter Dinah: all the soules of his sonnes and his daughters, were thirtie and three.

²Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,

³Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,

⁴Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

²And he put the handmaids and their children foremost, and Leah and her children after, and Rachel and Joseph hindermost.

²²¶ And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.

²³And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach:

¹⁶¶ And they journeyed from Beth-el; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.

¹⁷And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.

¹⁸And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin.

¹⁶¶ And they iourneyed from Bethel: and there was but a ^†litle way to come to Ephrath; and Rachel traueiled, and she had hard labour.

¹⁷And it came to passe when shee was in hard labour, that the midwife said vnto her, Feare not: thou shalt haue this sonne also.

¹⁸And it came to passe as her soule was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name ^†Ben-oni: but his father called him ^†Beniamin.

¹⁹The sons of Rachel Jacob’s wife; Joseph, and Benjamin.

²⁰¶ And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On bare unto him.

²¹¶ And the sons of Benjamin were Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.

²²These are the sons of Rachel, which were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.

¹⁹The sonnes of Rachel Iacobs wife: Ioseph, and Beniamin.

²⁰¶ And vnto Ioseph in the lande of Egypt, were borne Manasseh and Ephraim, ^*which Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah ^‖Priest of On bare vnto him.

²¹¶ ^*And the sonnes of Beniamin were Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.

²²These are the sonnes of Rachel which were borne to Iacob: all the soules were fourteene.

⁴And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her.

⁵And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son.

⁶And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan.

⁷And Bilhah Rachel’s maid conceived again, and bare Jacob a second son.

⁸And Rachel said, With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali.

⁴And shee gaue him Bilhah her handmayd to wife: and Iacob went in vnto her.

⁵And Bilhah conceiued and bare Iacob a sonne.

⁶And Rachel said, God hath iudged me, and hath also heard my voyce, and hath giuen me a sonne; therefore called she his name ^†Dan.

⁷And Bilhah Rachels mayd conceiued againe, and bare Iacob a second sonne.

⁸And Rachel saide, With ^†great wrastlings haue I wrastled with my sister, and I haue preuailed: and she called his name ^†*Naphtali.

²These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.

²³¶ And the sons of Dan; Hushim.

²⁴¶ And the sons of Naphtali; Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.

²⁵These are the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these unto Jacob: all the souls were seven.

²³¶ And the sonnes of Dan: Hushim.

²⁴¶ And the sonnes of Naphtali: Iahzeel, and Guni, and Iezer, and Shillem.

²⁵These are the sonnes of Bilhah, which Laban gaue vnto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these vnto Iacob: all the soules were seuen.

²⁰And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.

²⁰And Isaac was fortie yeeres old when hee tooke Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan Aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.

⁹When Leah saw that she had left bearing, she took Zilpah her maid, and gave her Jacob to wife.

¹⁰And Zilpah Leah’s maid bare Jacob a son.

¹¹And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name Gad.

¹²And Zilpah Leah’s maid bare Jacob a second son.

¹³And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name Asher.

⁹When Leah saw that she had left bearing, shee tooke Zilpah her mayde, and gaue her Iacob to wife.

¹⁰And Zilpah Leahs mayde bare Iacob a sonne.

¹¹And Leah said, A troupe commeth: and she called his name ^†Gad.

¹²And Zilpah Leahs mayde bare Iacob a second sonne.

¹³And Leah said, ^†Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name ^†Asher.

¹⁸And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his getting, which he had gotten in Padan-aram, for to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.

¹⁸These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob, even sixteen souls.

¹⁶¶ And the sonnes of Gad: Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.

¹⁷¶ ^*And the sonnes of Asher: Iimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and Serah their sister: And the sonnes of Beriah: Heber, and Malchiel.

¹⁸These are the sonnes of Zilpah, whome Laban gaue to Leah his daughter: and these she bare vnto Iacob, euen sixteene soules.

²Arise, go to Padan-aram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother’s father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother’s brother.
