Genesis 35:8–9

⁵⁹And they sent away Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham’s servant, and his men.

¹³And they took their bones, and buried them under a tree at Jabesh, and fasted seven days.

¹³And they tooke their bones, and ^*buried them vnder a tree at Iabesh, and fasted seuen dayes.

¹AND an angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.

¹¶ And an ^‖Angel of the LORD came vp from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to goe vp out of Egypt, and haue brought you vnto the land which I sware vnto your fathers, and I said, I will neuer breake my Couenant with you.

⁵And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there unto the Lord.

¹AND the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

¹¶ And the ^* LORD appeared vnto him, in the plaines of Mamre: and he sate in the tent doore, in the heat of the day.

²And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:

²And the LORD appeared vnto him and said, Goe not downe into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of.

¹AND God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Beth-el, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

¹¶ And God said vnto Iacob, Arise, goe vp to Bethel, and dwel there: and make there an Altar vnto God, that appeared vnto thee, ^*when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

⁷And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.

⁷And the LORD appeared vnto Abram, and said, ^*Unto thy seed wil I giue this land: and there builded hee an ^*altar vnto the LORD, who appeared vnto him.

¹AND when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

¹¶ And when Abram was ninetie yeres old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said vnto him, I am the almightie God, ^*walke before me, and be thou ^‖perfect.

¹³And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;

^13*And behold, the LORD stood aboue it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I giue it, and to thy seede.

¹¹And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.

¹²And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.

¹³I am the God of Beth-el, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.

¹¹And the Angel of God spake vnto me in a dreame, saying, Iacob; And I said, Here am I.

¹²And hee said, Lift vp now thine eyes, and see, all the rammes which leape vpon the cattell are ring-straked, speckled and grisled: for I haue seene all that Laban doeth vnto thee.

¹³I am the God of ^*Bethel, where thou annoyntedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow vnto mee: now arise, get thee out from this land, and returne vnto the land of thy kindred.

³And the Lord said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.

³And the LORD said vnto Iacob, Returne vnto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I wil be with thee.

¹AND Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.

²⁴¶ And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.

²⁵And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.

²⁶And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

²⁷And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.

²⁸And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

²⁹And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.

³⁰And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

²⁴¶ And Iacob was left alone: and there wrestled a man with him, vntill the ^†breaking of the day.

²⁵And when he saw, that he preuailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh: and the hollow of Iacobs thigh was out of ioynt, as hee wrestled with him.

²⁶And he said, Let me goe, for the day breaketh: and he said, ^*I will not let thee goe, except thou blesse me.

²⁷And he said vnto him, what is thy name? and he said, Iacob.

²⁸And he said, ^*Thy name shall be called no more Iacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God, and with men, and hast preuailed.

²⁹And Iacob asked him, and saide, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name: and he said, wherefore is it, that thou doest aske after my name? and he blessed him there.

³⁰And Iacob called the name of the place ^†Peniel: for I haue seene God face to face, and my life is preserued.

²And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.

³And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:

³And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,

⁴And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.

³And Iacob saide vnto Ioseph, God Almightie appeared vnto mee at ^*Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed mee,

⁴And said vnto me, Behold, I wil make thee fruitfull, and multiplie thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people, and will giue this land to thy seede after thee, for an euerlasting possession.

³The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

^3†‖The LORD hath appeared of old vnto mee, saying; Yea I haue loued thee with an euerlasting loue: therefore with louing kindnesse haue I drawen thee.

²And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,

⁴Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Beth-el, and there he spake with us;
