Isaiah 7:15–16

²²And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.

^22†And it shall come to passe, for the abundance of milke that they shall giue, he shal eate butter: for butter and hony shall euery one eate, that is left in the land.

¹⁵Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.

⁵Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

⁹Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

⁹ Let loue bee without dissimulation: abhorre that which is euill, cleaue to that which is good.

⁴⁰And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

²⁹In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.

³⁰And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

⁹And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him: for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried the people of it captive to Kir, and slew Rezin.

³Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:

⁴But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.

⁵I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the Lord.

³Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and ^‖for foure I wil not ^‖turne away the punishment thereof, because they haue threshed Gilead, with threshing instruments of yron.

⁴But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall deuoure the palaces of Benhadad.

⁵I wil breake also the barre of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the ^‖plaine of Auen: and him that holdeth the scepter from the ^‖house of Eden, and the people of Syria shall goe into captiuitie, vnto Kir, saith the LORD.

⁹Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.

¹THE burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

²The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

³The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the Lord of hosts.

¹¶ The burden of Damascus: Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a citie, and it shalbe a ruinous heape.
