Job 21:15–16

²And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.

⁹For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.

¹³Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the Lord of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the Lord.

¹⁴But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the Lord of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.

^13‖Yee said also; Behold what a wearinesse is it, and yee haue snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hostes, and yee brought that which was torne, and the lame, and the sicke: thus yee brought an offring: should I accept this of your hand, saith the LORD?

^14†But cursed be the deceiuer, which hath in his flocke a male, and voweth and sacrificeth vnto the LORD a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hostes, and my name is dreadfull among the heathen.

¹¹Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

⁶According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.

³For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?

³For thou saydst, what aduantage will it bee vnto thee, and, what profite shall I haue, ^‖if I bee cleansed from my sinne?

⁷¶ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

²⁴Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

¹⁸Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

¹BLESSED is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

¹⁰¶ My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

⁶They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

⁷None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

⁵God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

⁶The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

⁷Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

^5†God shall likewise destroy thee for euer, hee shall take thee away and plucke thee out of thy dwelling place, and roote thee out of the land of the liuing. Selah.

⁶The righteous also shall see, and feare, and shall laugh at him.

^7‖Loe, this is the man that made not God his strength: but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himselfe in his wickednesse.

⁸There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.

^8*‖ There is no man that hath power ouer the spirit to retaine the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that warre, neither shall wickednesse deliuer those that are giuen to it.

²¹And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

⁹Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this?

²And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

²⁵But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

⁸Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
