Psalms 119:148–154

⁶When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

¹⁹Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.

¹²And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

¹⁷How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

¹⁸If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

¹O GOD, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

⁶²At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.

⁷¶ I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord, and the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.

²¹But do thou for me, O God the Lord, for thy name’s sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.

⁴⁰Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.

¹HAVE mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

²Attend unto me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise;

²Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.

³My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

¹⁵⁶Great are thy tender mercies, O Lord: quicken me according to thy judgments.

²⁵My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.

¹⁶Hear me, O Lord; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.

¹⁵⁴Plead my cause, and deliver me: quicken me according to thy word.

¹HEAR my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

²When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

⁹He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

¹⁶¶ And Jonathan Saul’s son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.

¹⁶Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night in the plains of the wilderness, but speedily pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.

¹⁴Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.

¹¹Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

¹²Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

¹³They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.

¹⁶For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

¹⁷Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.

¹³But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

¹⁴For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

⁴⁶Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

⁴⁷¶ And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

²²How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

⁷¶ The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

¹⁸The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

¹⁴²Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.

²Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

¹⁸The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

⁷For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

²³Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

¹³⁸Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and very faithful.

¹GOD is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

¹UNTO thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

³³Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

¹⁴I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

⁷The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.

⁸They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.

¹⁴⁴The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live.

¹⁶⁰Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

³⁴My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

³⁵Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

³⁶His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.

³⁷It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

¹REMEMBER, O Lord, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.

¹⁷⁶I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I do not forget thy commandments.

¹³Have mercy upon me, O Lord; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:

¹MY son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

¹⁴¹I am small and despised: yet do not I forget thy precepts.

¹⁵⁹Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, O Lord, according to thy lovingkindness.

¹⁶I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

¹⁹Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.

⁷¶ And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

⁸And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

²⁰¶ Behold, O Lord, and consider to whom thou hast done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?

³²Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.

¹⁰⁹My soul is continually in my hand: yet do I not forget thy law.

⁹⁸Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.

³Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

⁴Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

¹PLEAD my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.

¹⁵The Lord therefore be judge, and judge between me and thee, and see, and plead my cause, and deliver me out of thine hand.

³⁴Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

⁹I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.

²⁰But, O Lord of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.

²⁵My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.

⁴⁰Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.

¹MY little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

³⁶Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will plead thy cause, and take vengeance for thee; and I will dry up her sea, and make her springs dry.

⁸I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:

²³For the Lord will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them.

¹JUDGE me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
