Psalms 14:1–2

⁴The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

¹THE fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

¹¶ The foole hath sayde in his heart, There is no god; Corrupt are they, and haue done abhominable iniquitie; there is none that doth good.

¹⁰As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

¹¹There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

¹²They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

²¹Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

²²Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

²³And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

²⁴Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

²⁵Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

²⁶For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

²⁷And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

²⁸And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

²⁹Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

³⁰Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

³¹Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

³²Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

²¹Because that when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankefull, but became vaine in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened:

²³And changed the glory of the vncorruptible ^*God, into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birdes, and foure footed beasts, and creeping things:

²⁴Wherefore God also gaue them vp to vncleannesse, through the lusts of their owne hearts, to dishonour their owne bodies betweene themselues:

²⁵Who changed the trueth of God into a lye, and worshipped and serued the creature more then the Creatour, who is blessed for euer. Amen.

²⁶For this cause God gaue them vp vnto vile affections: for euen their women did change the naturall vse into that which is against nature:

²⁷And likewise also the men, leauing the naturall vse of the woman, burned in their lust one towards another, men with men working that which is vnseemely, and receiuing in themselues that recompense of their errour which was meet.

²⁸And euen as they did not like to ^‖retaine God in their knowledge, God gaue them ouer to ^‖a reprobate minde, to doe those things which are not conuenient:

²⁹Being filled with all vnrighteousnes, fornication, wickednesse, couetousnes, maliciousnes, full of enuie, murther, debate, deceit, malignitie, whisperers,

³⁰Backbiters, haters of God, despitefull, proude, boasters, inuenters of euill things, disobedient to parents;

³¹Without vnderstanding, couenant breakers, without ^‖naturall affection, implacable, vnmercifull;

³²Who knowing the iudgement of God, (that they which commit such things, are worthy of death) not onely do the same, but ^‖haue pleasure in them that doe them.

⁶A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.

¹AND you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

²Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

³Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

¹¶ And you hath hee quickned who were dead in trespasses, and sinnes,

²Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the aire, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience,

³Among whom also we all had our conuersation in times past, in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling ^†the desires of the flesh, and of the minde, and were by nature the children of wrath, euen as others:

⁵¶ And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

³⁴O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

⁷¶ The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

²⁰But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

¹⁹For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

⁴How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

⁵They break in pieces thy people, O Lord, and afflict thine heritage.

⁶They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

⁷Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

⁸Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

⁴ How long shal they vtter, and speake hard things? and all the workers of iniquitie boast themselues?

⁵They breake in pieces thy people, O LORD: and afflict thine heritage.

⁶They slay the widowe and the stranger: and murder the fatherlesse.

^7*Yet they say, The LORD shall not see: neither shall the God of Iacob regard it.

⁸Understand, yee brutish among the people: and ye fooles, when will ye be wise?

¹²And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

¹⁹And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

¹⁹The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.

²²Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.

³For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

¹²That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

⁴Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

¹⁶They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

²⁵Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this man of Belial, even Nabal: for as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him: but I thine handmaid saw not the young men of my lord, whom thou didst send.

¹THE transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.

²For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.

³The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.

⁴He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

¹¶ The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no feare of God before his eyes.

⁵God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

⁶The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

¹¶ Why boastest thou thy selfe in mischiefe, O mightie man? the goodnesse of God indureth continually.

⁶The righteous also shall see, and feare, and shall laugh at him.

⁸But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

¹⁶How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?

³For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

¹¹There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

⁶But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

¹³The Lord looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.

¹⁹For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the Lord behold the earth;

¹⁵For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

³Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God.

¹⁰Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

⁶¶ Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

⁵They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

¹¹When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will shew them no favour.

¹⁶Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

²¹I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.

¹⁹¶ And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

¹⁹¶ And when they shall say vnto you; Seeke vnto them that haue familiar spirits, and vnto wizards that peepe and that mutter: should not a people seeke vnto their God? for the liuing, to the dead?

⁵⁰Till the Lord look down, and behold from heaven.

⁵O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

⁵O yee simple, vnderstand wisedome: and yee fooles, be yee of an vnderstanding heart.

⁴³Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

⁴³Who so is wise, and will obserue those things; euen they shall vnderstand the louing kindenesse of the LORD.

¹⁹That prepareth his heart to seek God, the Lord God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.

⁵And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
