Ruth 2:7–8

³³The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

^33*The feare of the LORD is the instruction of wisedome; and before honour is humilitie.

⁵Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

⁶Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

⁴The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

²⁹Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

¹⁰Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

¹⁰Whatsoeuer thy hand findeth to doe, doe it with thy might: for there is no worke, nor deuice, nor knowledge, nor wisedome in the graue, whither thou goest.

⁹And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

³Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

¹¹Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

¹¹Not slouthfull in busines: feruent in spirit, seruing the Lord.

¹³And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

⁷Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?

⁸¶ If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds’ tents.

⁷Tell me, (O thou whom my soule loueth) where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flocke to rest at noone: for why should I be ^‖as one that turneth aside by the flockes of thy companions?

⁸¶ If thou know not (O thou fairest among women) goe thy way forth by the footsteps of the flocke, and feede thy kiddes beside the shepheards tents.

¹⁶Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.

⁷And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

⁸Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

⁹Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,

¹⁰Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

¹¹And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.

⁷And as yee goe, preach, saying, ^*The kingdome of heauen is at hand:

⁸Heale the sicke, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out deuils: freely ye haue receiued, freely giue.

^9*‖Prouide neither gold, nor siluer, nor brasse in your purses:

¹⁰Nor scrippe for your iourney, neither two coats, neither shooes, nor yet staues: (^*for the workeman is worthy of his meat.)

²And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
