Romans 4:1–5
WHAT shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
¶ What shall we say then, that Abraham our father, as perteining to the flesh, hath found?
For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
For if Abraham were iustified by workes, hee hath whereof to glory, but not before God.
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
For what saith the Scripture? Abraham beleeued God, and it was counted vnto him for righteousnes.
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
Now to him that worketh, is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
But to him that worketh not, but beleeueth on him that iustifieth the vngodly; his faith is counted for righteousnesse.

1IT is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
3And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
4How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
5Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.
6For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
7And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
1¶ It is not expedient for me, doubtlesse, to glory, I wil come to visions and reuelations of the Lord.
2I knewe a man in Christ aboue foureteene yeeres agoe, whether in the body, I cannot tell, or whether out of the body, I cannot tell, God knoweth: such a one, caught vp to the third heauen.
3And I knew such a man (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell, God knoweth.)
4How that he was caught vp into Paradise, and heard vnspeakeable wordes, which it is not ‖lawfull for a man to vtter.
5Of such a one will I glory, yet of my selfe I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.
6For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a foole: for I will say the trueth. But now I forbeare, lest any man should thinke of me aboue that which hee seeth me to bee, or that hee heareth of me:
7And least I should bee exalted aboue measure through the abundance of the reuelations, there was giuen to me a *thorne in the flesh, the messenger of Sathan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted aboue measure.
8For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from mee.
9And he said vnto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weaknes. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest vpon me.

13For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
14But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
13For neither they themselues who are circumcised, keepe the Law, but desire to haue you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
14But God forbid that I should glory, saue in the Crosse of our Lord Iesus Christ, ‖by whom the world is crucified vnto me, & I vnto the world.

20Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
20Therefore by the deedes of the Law, there shall no flesh be iustified in his sight: for by the Law is the knowledge of sinne.
21But nowe the righteousnesse of God without the Lawe is manifested, being witnessed by the Lawe and the Prophets.
22Euen the righteousnesse of God, which is by faith of Iesus Christ vnto all, and vpon all them that beleeue: for there is no difference:
23For all haue sinned, and come short of the glory of God,
24Being iustified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Iesus Christ:
25Whom God hath ‖set forth to bee a propitiation, through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousnesse for the ‖remission of sinnes, that are past, through the forbearance of God.
26To declare, I say, at this time his righteousnesse: that hee might bee iust, and the iustifier of him which beleeueth in Iesus.
27Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what Law? Of works? Nay: but by the Law of faith.
28Therefore wee conclude, that a man is iustified by faith, without the deeds of the Law.

1FOR the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
2And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
3And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
4And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
5Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
6And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
7They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.
8So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.
9And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
10But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.
11And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,
12Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.
13But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?
14Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.
15Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
16So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
1¶ For the kingdome of heauen is like vnto a man that is an housholder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
2And when hee had agreed with the labourers for a †peny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
3And he went out about the third houre, and saw others standing idle in the market place,

5Againe he went out about the sixth and ninth houre, and did likewise.
6And about the eleuenth houre, he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith vnto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
7They say vnto him, Because no man hath hired vs. He saith vnto them, Go ye also into the vineyard: and whatsoeuer is right, that shall ye receiue.
8So when euen was come, the lord of the vineyard saith vnto his Steward, Call the labourers, and giue them their hire, beginning from the last, vnto the first.
9And when they came that were hired about the eleuenth houre, they receiued euery man a penie.
10But when the first came, they supposed that they should haue receiued more, and they likewise receiued euery man a penie.
11And when they had receiued it, they murmured against the good man of the house,
12Saying, These last ‖haue wrought but one houre, and thou hast made them equall vnto vs, which haue borne the burden, and heat of the day.
13But he answered one of them and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penie?
14Take that thine is, and goe thy way, I will giue vnto this last, euen as vnto thee.
15Is it not lawfull for mee to doe what I wil with mine owne? Is thine eye euill, because I am good?
